Interview Episode with Viktoria Piechowitz
What happens when becoming a mother completely changes the person you thought you were?
In this episode of I Am Mother, I sit down with Viktoria Piechowitz—a mother of two, pre- and postnatal yoga teacher, and holistic nutrition consultant specializing in fertility, pregnancy, postpartum and baby nutrition.
Originally from Germany, Viktoria came to Canada to work in the animation industry. Then came a global pandemic, two babies, two very different birth experiences, and a motherhood journey that completely changed the direction of her life.
This is not a conversation about having it all figured out.
It’s about what happens when motherhood cracks you open.
We go deep into both of Viktoria’s birth experiences and the processing, questioning and awakening that followed. We talk about the parts of motherhood that can be difficult to articulate—the layers beneath the beautiful moments, the identity shifts, the things we wish we had known, and the things she would do differently if she could go back.
That awakening eventually led Viktoria toward prenatal and postnatal yoga and holistic nutrition, and toward what she now sees as her deeper calling: supporting women through one of the most transformative journeys of their lives and helping them create a motherhood that feels more connected, nourished and aligned.
But we also talk about the reality of where she is now.
Building a business while raising two young children. Navigating their emotions. Not knowing what the future looks like or where her family will be next. Wrestling with big questions around education. Trying to build something of her own while feeling like the systems around her aren't necessarily making it easy.
And underneath all of that, there is the deeply personal work of looking at her own thoughts, patterns and challenges—and asking herself what she wants to heal, change and break for the sake of her children.
There is no sugar coating in this conversation.
Just the real deal of motherhood: the beauty, the grief, the transformation, the identity shifts, the uncertainty, the awakening, and the ongoing work of becoming.
In this episode, we talk about:
Viktoria's journey from animation into motherhood
Her two very different birth experiences
The emotional processing and awakening that came after birth
How motherhood changed her sense of identity and purpose
The moment she began to recognize a new calling
Becoming a prenatal and postnatal yoga teacher and holistic nutrition consultant
What she wishes she had known before becoming a mother
The things she would shift or do differently now
The layers of motherhood that don't always get talked about
Building a business while raising two young children
The uncertainty of not knowing what comes next
Parenting, education and making decisions for your children in an ever-changing world
Looking honestly at our own patterns and triggers
Breaking cycles and consciously choosing what we want to pass on to our children
Creating a motherhood that feels more connected, nourished and aligned
And the messy, ongoing process of figuring it all out
This one is for anyone who has ever looked at motherhood and thought, there has to be more to this than the version we've been sold.
Because sometimes motherhood doesn't just change your life.
Sometimes it reveals you.
